'Well done Team.'
We went to Goring & Streatley to defend our title of 'Berkshire 19+ Inter-Club Champions' and returned victorious without last year's 'home advantage'.
Our team score of 218 was 15 points better that our hosts' in 2nd place and 17 points more than 3rd placed East Berkshire so we brought back the 'Cup'.
This year's revised format for the event worked very well with everything decided over the same 18 hole round from a shot-gun start.
Each of the eight competing Clubs entered a team of nine players with the best six scores counting for the 'Team' competition.
Previously the 'Singles' (individual) competition was played over 18 holes in the morning, followed by a 'Greensomes' round (each club fielding 3 pairs).
Clive Reed was disappointed not to be able to defend his 2014 Singles title but David Russell stepped up to the plate to take the Singles salver with 43 points.
Your Captain was 3rd with 39 points and 2012 Singles winner, Mike Durkin, was 5th with 38 points - there were 72 competitors.

Finally, 'Thank you' to the Reserves who were on 'stand-by' in case I, or any other selected team member, ailed or failed or could not play on the day.
Charles (Grieve), 19+ Captain.
