Newbury and Crookham juniors have finally done it after 27 years – winners of the Thames Valley junior golf league. Having not won since 1991 the league title came down to the last match of the season against Calcot away. The team of 5 boys consisted of Andrew Mead Simon Mead Jack Graham (captain), Teddy Devlin, Bradley Hopkins, narrowly beat a strong Calcot side 3-2 which was decided down the last hole by the last 2 matches in a nail biting finish Andrew Mead match All square. Simon Mead lost 3 down Jack Graham won 3 up Teddy Devlin match all square Bradley Hopkins won 2 up.
They will now go on to play in the Bert Yates trophy on Friday at Woburn sands to play the winners of the other leagues.
