Newbury & Crookham Golf Club hosted its annual Jack Hughes Club Championships over the weekend, featuring two days of high-quality golf and closely contested battles across all divisions.
Chris Harrison delivered a superb performance to win the Jack Hughes Trophy and Seniors Memorial Trophy, posting rounds of 70 and 71 for a 141 total. This marks his first Club Championship title, and his consistency across both days saw him finish two shots clear at the top of the leaderboard.
Rob Low secured second place overall and claimed the 4–9 Handicap Salver with a composed and impressive showing. After an opening round of 72, Rob carded a final-round 71, finishing with a run of one birdie and eight pars on the back nine to post a 143 total.
The 10–18 Handicap Salver was won by Tony Ruczynski, who had a rollercoaster of a weekend. After setting the pace with a strong opening round of 75, Tony held a four-stroke lead overnight. His final round was a tale of two halves: after a difficult front nine where he carded +14, he produced a remarkable turnaround on the back nine, firing a level-par 36 to rescue his title challenge and finish with a total of 158.
A huge well done to all competitors for making it another fantastic and memorable Club Championship weekend at Newbury & Crookham.
