The Ladies’ Championships took place on Saturday, 27th July with the morning round taking place in light rain but a brighter afternoon ensued.
The Bronze Salver is a 27 hole medal competition and Kerry Barlow asserted her lead with an excellent nett 70 in the morning round. She achieved a steady nett 39 for the afternoon 9 holes and won by a margin of 10 shots with a nett 109 from Liz Draper on 119.
Linda Hunt won the Scratch Cup with a remarkable gross 146 over 36 holes to secure her 10th win as the Ladies’ Champion. In second place with a gross 160 was Alison Blackmore.
There was an exciting conclusion to the Silver Salver with a four hole play off between Leanne Hutchings and Miwa Beer; both achieving a superb nett 140 in the 36 hole competition. Despite Miwa sinking an 8 foot putt on the 13th Leanne was one shot ahead and sunk her putt to win.
