As you are all aware the Clubhouse Working Group (CWG) have been working on a detailed understanding on the state of the current clubhouse. This work culminated in a presentation to the Management Committee at our latest meeting in September. As a result, the Management Committee and CWG plan to share an update with you on the progress we are making towards agreeing future plans for the development of the clubhouse.

We announced in the weekly round up on 19th September that this will take the form of a Town Hall which will take place on Monday 13th October at 7pm at the Golf Club. The Management Committee and CWG will provide an update on the key findings from the buildings surveys, an objective assessment of the building’s current condition, along with indicative costs for the essential work which we will need to undertake. These are essential in understanding how we can move forward.

This will enable us to initiate a structured discussion about long-term development, the options available to us for the clubhouse, along with the funding challenges and the alternative financing options being explored by the CWG and Finance Committee.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions in person on the evening, but if you have any questions in advance, please do not hesitate to forward them to membership@newburygolf.co.uk, the CWG or myself. Gareth will be sending out the formal invite along with details of how to attend via zoom later today.

Members attending the meeting via Zoom will be able to listen and observe the proceedings, but will not be able to take part in discussions or ask questions during the meeting.

If, after listening to the meeting, you have any questions or comments, please send them by email to membership@newburygolf.co.uk following the meeting. Your feedback and queries will be reviewed and addressed by the appropriate committee.
