Following the update from the Government last night, England Golf have just published a statement relating to golf. The statement is below;
‘England Golf is today pleased to confirm that threeball and fourball play can re-commence from Monday 1 June
It remains our recommendation for a minimum 10-minute interval between tee times.
Clubs may choose to run competitions provided social distancing and safety regulations can be strictly observed at all times.’
The booking system is populated for the next two weeks with two balls, this afternoon I will be removing the restrictions that prevented the ability to book 3 or 4 balls.
As a result of me doing so, the tee times will no longer be restricted to two balls. This means that you could find that additional members join your tee time and you become a 3 or a 4 ball or you will be able to remove yourself from the time that you have booked and join another two friends to make up a fourball.
Although the capacity of the golf course will now double there will still be huge demand on popular times such as Saturday and Sunday mornings. I would ask that you consider your fellow members for the initial few weeks while demand is high and if you would like to play twice at the weekend please consider making one of those bookings ‘off peak’.
Following member feedback on the booking system we have made a small adjustment to when the weekend tee times go live. From now on weekend tee times will be able to be booked 12 days in advance. For example, Saturday bookings will go live on a Monday morning at 8am and Sunday bookings will go live on a Tuesday morning at 8am. Week day bookings remain 14 days in advance.
All golf will continue to start from the 1st tee.
The England Golf announcement also mentions that clubs can run competitions provided safety is maintained. Rest assured we have been preparing for this behind the scenes and will communicate more in the coming days.
I am sorry I can’t be specific about the time that I will release these tee times but it will be before 5pm this afternoon. Please be patient, there is a lot going on behind the scenes.
Kind Regards
Gareth Williams
