The Government today has reviewed the local restriction tiers and as from 19th December the golf club will be in Tier 3: Very High alert.
What does this mean for the Golf Club?
Moving from Tier 2 to Tier 3 will see very little change for Newbury & Crookham GC as we are already operating without the use of the clubhouse.
The golf course will remain open, as will the pro shop, play can be in fourballs and 8 minutes apart is fine as long as tee times are pre-booked. We can also continue to operate the take away service from the half way hut. Locker rooms will be open for storage, toilets and wash-hand basins.
The following guidance was received from England Golf following the government review today:
For those clubs still in Tier 2 with members potentially residing in Tier 3, or the other way round, I’d like to remind you of the following regarding travel and club access;
- That it is the individual’s responsibility to consider whether they should make the journey
- The club’s responsibility is to follow the guidance for their tier and be COVID-secure
- The club shouldn’t be encouraging or recommending travel in and out of Tier Three
