Following the recent success from the Over 60’s Seniors in winning the Reading & District Over 60’s League for the first time in 20 years last week, on Monday 23rd September the team played the annual Ron Stanbrook Final match, which featured all 7 teams participating in the League, Reading, Calcot, Henley, Sonning, East Berks and Goring.
Once again ably led by captain John Hughesdon, who returned a stalwart 35 points, the team returned a total of 217, which was 8 points ahead of the field. Plus Harvey Dobson won the overall individual event with a magnificent 43 points making the event this year the best result ever from N&C. Well done to all the other players: John Parsons, Derek Bell,Tom Ponton,Steve Myers,Roger Harman,Paul Sievers and Ray Whatley are the champions!
Which means a tough act to follow in 2020!
